New A. R. F. Shipping NV was founded in Antwerp from the old Antwerp Repair Facilities, Antwerp Diesel Pumps and Longueville Zeebrugge. Longueville started in the eighteen eightees as a forge and soon rendered repair services to the numerous stevedoring and port transport corporations of Antwerp during that era.

At the end of the eighteen-nineties, LONGUEVILLE were among the forerunners to introduce the electric arc welding process a then modern technology, bringing an enormous time gain.

Soon Longueville supplied their mobile welding units to all major shipbuilders and repairers, as well as to numerous metal construction works.

The economic revival following the second world war, enabled Longueville to implement a comprehensive expansion program, this broadening the scope of the service capabilities.
